Can I take my child out of school during term time?

In line with the DfES campaign “Every Lesson Counts”, North Somerset Local Authority have issued guidance to schools regarding holidays taken during term time. All absences from school need to be authorised and Headteachers have been advised to take a firm stance on holidays during term time.

A new absence and holiday policy is currently being drafted and will be issued to all new and existing parents/carerrs in the Autumn.
