We “Walked the World” & raised £800 for Kenya!

Thank you for your support of our recent sponsored “Walk the World” event.

The children had an enjoyable afternoon travelling from class to class – each had been set up to represent a different country.

You raised over £800 in support of computers for Ja Little Home Nursery School in Kenya and also received £500 from North Somerset for PE equipment and coaching for taking part. Thank you!

Congratulations to Mrs Hardy and some of Class 7 (2007/08) whose shortlisted film “The Titanic Disaster” was awarded third place in the Reception/Key Stage 1 category at the “NOSCARS 2008” film festival this week.

The festival is organised annually by the North Somerset Council ICT Strategy Team to promote creativity, communication, teamwork, planning, problem solving and critical thinking, and the theme for this year was “2 Minute History”.

Yeo Valley Children’s Centre in Yatton

We are very pleased to announce that a Children’s Centre – a comprehensive resource for local families providing access to services for young children – will open on the Yatton Schools’ site sometime in the early part of 2008.

The Centre will be a real benefit to local communities of Yatton, Congresbury, and the surrounding area. It will benefit our schools in many ways, and we plan to organise some events for parents of both Yatton Schools in the New Year to provide you with more information on this project.
