Welcome to the Yatton Infant School website.

18th to 22nd May has been designated by North Somerset Council as “Walk to School Week”.
We are keen to see as many children as possible get to school using any mode of “green travel” such as scooter, bike or bus (or walking at least 5 minutes from where your car has been parked! ).
We could win an award if 100 per cent of children can come to school in one of these ways. The School Council would like everyone to participate and make a particular effort of “Use your Feet Friday!”
Good Luck!

All classes enjoyed Maths Week with lots of exciting mathamatical games, challenges and activities going on. It was lovely to see so many mums, dads and grandparents working with their children as well.
Both the Infant and Junior Schools have agreed that Thursday, 3rd September and Friday, 4th September will be INSET Days. School will be open to Year 1 and Year 2 children on Monday, 7th September and Reception children will start their Induction period on Wednesday, 9th September.
Every class will have a special day of activities themed around a book chosen by the class teacher. All children can come to school in their pyjamas or nightwear ready for a Bedtime story ready for a Bedtime Story session at the end of the day!

There will also be a grand book swap so sort out any unwanted books (please no broken or ripped books) and bring them to the school hall before school on Thursday morning.
Enter our competition! Write the title of your favourite book and why you like it. Don’t forget to add your name and class. Four winning entries will be picked and a dispaly of children’s ideas willbe put in the entrance hall.
